The Bikes Have Landed

Today 24 tuned-up and kid-ready mountain bikes arrived in Rochester, NY. We are very excited. Camp is getting very close and we are both looking forward to it. We will be heading to camp on August 8 and returning on August 20. Thanks to all who helped with our special bike project!

Camp Fun with Bikes

It's been a busy summer so far. In addition to wedding planning, trail projects, and enjoying the Colorado summer, we have been working hard on a special bike project for Camp DayDreams, a summer camp program for Rochester area youth who wouldn't otherwise have a summer camp experience. We have been collecting mountain bikes in Colorado, tuning them up and getting them ready for shipping. We expect to have 20 bikes by the end of the week. They ship next week and we will follow them to Rochester in a couple of weeks. Camp DayDreams is a great organization, so check them out on the web at www.campdaydreams.org. Underwater, Really?

We took a diving trip to Roatan, Honduras the last week of March. On THE dive, we were looking at a huge school of little silver fish with two large groupers swimming through it. We were watching all the little fish try to get out of the way so as to not be the grouper's next meal. Larry motioned me to come over to where he was, and I reluctantly went-- I was very busy looking at the fish! Larry was down on one fin, and held up a dive slate (like an underwater chalkboard) that said "Will you marry me?" He had two answers written down and motioned for me to circle one. I circled yes. He then pulled out a ring from his dive vest securely attached to a carabiner and put it on my hand and away we went!
